Vetting and Compatibility is part of the Ship Shore Interface unit of the Caribbean Jetty Operator program. Before a tanker calls at the terminal, it has to be vetted by checking previous inspection reports and checked for compatibility with the terminal. Learners are taught about the types of ships that carry liquids in bulk, interpreting ship particulars and inspecting vessel certification. Learners get an introduction to liquefied gas tank types, liquefied gas tanker design and oil tanker design. Learners are introduced to berthing and mooring equipment.
